I Have A Promise Pending!

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” -Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV

Here I am, in the hospital, going through yet enough stent of trying to figure out what’s going on with me from a health perspective. This has been my life since 2016, and it’s honestly quite tiring. I look back at all the promised God has spoken over my life and I start to wonder, “God, have you forgotten about me? You said you would do this, but where is it? Where is what you promised me?”

That was literally my thought process earlier when I was wondering when God’s promises would come, and if they would come at all. God reminded me in that moment that my promise was pending. When I first heard it, I didn’t know what that even meant. I sat there for a few minutes, trying to wrap my head about what a promise pending meant, until I thought about what a patent pending meant. This is what Google says “patent pending” means.

When a patent is marked as “patent pending,” it means an application has been submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), but the patent has not yet been granted. While the inventor has taken steps to protect their invention, they don’t have full legal rights until the patent is officially issued.

So where is the connect? I know that may not seem to make sense right now, but just follow me for a moment. When a promise is pending, it has already been set in motion. How? Our Father has already spoken the promise to us and confirmed it through His word. As a people, we have already started to praise and thank God for the promise, even though it has not been awarded yet. You see, we serve a triune God. One God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Think of God the Father as the USPTO. He is the one that holds the right to deny of approve. God the Son is the one that takes the steps to make sure we receive the promises of God. The Holy Spirit is the carrier to bridge the connection from God the Son to God the Father on behalf of us.

When our prayers make it to God the Father, it is God the Son and the Holy Spirit that carry our prayers, praise, worship, and thanksgiving to God the Father. This way, when God the Father receives it, He either approves or denies it. Get this though…a PROMISE is a PROMISE. The promise was ALREADY spoken over our lives, it simply has not been made manifest yet. It is our faith that unlocks the door at the right time, but the promise has already been spoken. It is not that the promise won’t be granted (because God does not go back on His Word), it is simply that it is executed when the time is right. Not only that, but our prayers, praise, worship, and thanksgiving expedite the hands of God to put His stamps on our promise and expedite the shipping!

Now, going back to my situation. I’ve dealt with health issues since I was 8 years old, even though 2016 is when it got significantly worse. Just because it’s 2025 now and I am still waiting on God to fulfill His promise to me, the promise has already been set in motion, and it will be made manifest at the RIGHT time! With that, allow me to encourage you.

You’ve been waiting on God to fulfill His promise to you. You’ve been fasting, praying, and just waiting for God to move like He said He would. Even though it has not come to pass as of yet, please know that is has already been set in motion. You may not be able to trace the hand of God just yet, but please know that His heart is ever turned towards you. The heart of Our Father, Our Savior, and our Comforter is ever turned towards You.

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” -Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV

Be encouraged!
